op single handedly enabling jai paul
Lmao
Me too
When it's rushed it's usually not that good
facts
I feel like it gives artists time to explore different directions and decide what works best instead of just going w the first new thing they come up with

We got used so much to quick music that it's now popular to release albums every year and even "fix" album after releasing them (thanks Kanye) or add a deluxe a week later
That's crazy that's part of why all these albums get forgotten in a week, the artists themselves didn't sit on them for a while then decide to release them
Btw I hope Sampha is doing well
no lie he was my motivation for making this thread
hope he comes back soon but process was good enough that he bought himself as long as he wants
I agree but only when it’s a necessary break
Like if they took 2 years to make an album but sit on it for 5 years “just because” would be dumb and annoying
But if it took that 5 years of growing to make that album, then okay then
But as long as that album is f***in amazing, I don’t care how long we gotta wait
If you mean Isaiah, I don't think he waited "just because" I think he truly wanted a break...

Yeah I don't care if his next album is trash (although I doubt it) or if he never drops more music Process is still great
Yea I agree
The risk of it is if the music isn’t good after the wait then it’s like years for nothing
That's what established bands do. But I appreciate the attempt
Surprised no one mentioned Chance
Part of the reason why The Big Day was clowned on so much was because of the amount of hype behind it after coming after Coloring Book and the 3 year wait.
S*** even Coloring Book didn't live up to the 3 year hype coming after Acid Rap for most people

True
It’s definitely more risky for a lot of artists because if it’s a miss that could be career ending or close to it
I don't mind waiting awhile for an artist to make an album, just as long as the album is gonna be great in the end. For example, Kendrick. I want to hear a new Kendrick album just as bad as anybody else, but I don't mind him taking his time and making sure the album is as great as it can possibly be. There's more than enough music for me to listen to in the meantime while I wait for him to release his product.
Now, on the other hand, if an artist take years to make an album, and the album is mediocre or average...then we have a problem, lol
