I’ll always be a fan of the Jays, Ye’s, Ems, etc., but at this point I’ve been hearing their songs for the past 20+ years. I don’t get the same feeling seeing them live anymore. There’s only so many times I can hear heartless, big Pimpin, 99 problems, can’t tell me nothing, lose yourself, etc.
Does anyone else feel this way? Or do you still get excited hearing/seeing these songs live?
That’s timeless music you listed. Sure it may hit more or less depending on the mood/setting but there’s a reason why those artists are still discussed today

No doubt.
But when I see headlines like Ye is headlining a certain festival or something, I literally don’t care lol. And that’s not because of his antics outside of music. I just don’t need to hear heartless again lol.
Jay could announce a tour tomorrow and I probably wouldn’t go, which is sad because he’s my favorite rapper. I just don’t need to hear Give It 2 Me for the 1000th time.
i wanna be over them and i mostly am for the most part, but the new gens are so ass
Agreed
I wouldn’t dare pay to see a new gen rapper

I understand your sentiment but I think that’s more of an indictment on the subsequent generations (primarily Gen Z) not having people that are taking the mantle
The 3 people you mentioned don't even tour that much
Big reason why I'm not buying that they wouldn't want to see them live lol

Man I’m a little older, so I’ve seen all of these guys countless times in their primes.
If you’re younger I get it though.
Ima be real I don't really go out of my way to play a lot of those songs. Mainly because I heard em so much in my childhood. That way when I do hear them randomly they hit extra hard
i wanna be over them and i mostly am for the most part, but the new gens are so ass

aight so im stuck in traffic last night and i start flipping through radio stations and i hear that new t.i. - let em know ringing off. now i wasn't too big on the song initially but something just clicked last night hearing new t.i. that actually sounds good come on the radio, it was just a feeling. a feeling that ive gotten from t.i.'s music since i was a child. and the same exact thing happened to me last year when I heard clipse - so be it come on the radio it's like these are our heavyweight champions and some of them still got it man like its a reason they are who they are i feel like we are still dependent on the same guys from 20 years ago to deliver to us these top tier hip-hop experiences
how can you get tired of seeing your favorite artists live, man what? lmfao. this is a brand new slant if I’ve ever seen one

We got to appreciate our legends still being around and active. Even if it’s not to their standard if they’re happy I’m happy for them

You gotta understand. I’ve been seeing them live and hearing the same songs for the past 20 years lol.
It doesnt mean I like them any less, but how many times can I get hype off of big pimpin lol?
Plus, music is way more accessible now, so it’s not like these songs ever went away. I’ve literally been hearing all of these artists for 2 decades.
Seeing them live again in 2026 and beyond just doesn’t hit the same unless it’s new material.
