I had a thread on KTT1 asking about which FF games I should start with, just continuing it here. So far I’ve only played X and X-2. Currently playing XV and have XII and XIII downloaded.
Which one should I play after XV? I really prefer turn based combat like X had if that means anything.
V ---> VI. Then if you want play the other 2D games or if you want to play 3D ones play FVII
pd: Final Fantasy game style change a lot more between games than most of the big JRPG series that's why there is no 'best' FF it depends a lot on your taste
pd: If you like MMO's try FFXIV

Play FF7, 8 and 9
6 as well if you can tolerate 2D graphics

Ok I’ll probably go 9 after I’m done with XV
If you really bout it a lot of the final fantasy’s are on your App Store.
Just cop those first and beat them quick then move on to the console ones
I’d play 6 or 7 next.
At least try out everything from 4-12 for a good overview of the series
Everything before that is a bit rough and everything after is considered pretty mediocre by most fans
Can someone list all the ones that have a more traditional turn based combat
turn based:
1, 2, 3, 10
ATB Turn Based
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

Thank you. What do 12 and 13 have?

12 is similar to vagrant story combat. It’s a bit strange, basically you encounter enemies in the overworld by locking onto them and then it transitions into something akin to turn based
13 is has turn based elements but the actions go in rapid sequence and fights take place in the overworld

this probably explains it better than I can, s*** got pretty crazy after FFX

just know final fantasy XIII is underrated
Play 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 they are all great games
Dont wait for FF7 Remake to experience 7 because its going to be totaly different and also extremely more expensive lol
