I’ve finally made it back to Poland to visit this OG again. He is now 84 btw and still going strong. He’s very anxious about COVID and stuff, but having family visit is worth the risks he said.

Some new pictures from last night:

^^ Serving me some homemade liquor that he made for our visit. Not a big drinker, but this s*** tastes good af.

Went through some of the photo albums and found some gems from his army days. Don’t know much about his role other than the fact that he jumped out of planes and s*** (imagine trusting parachutes in the early 50s). He was never involved in an active war (thank God). Too young for WWII, but he remembers the Nazis invading as they took his sister due to her “dark features” and his parents had to chase down the Nazi vehicle waving papers around to prove that she wasn’t Jewish. Crazy what some people went through not so long ago!

They’re protesting outside our apartment rn. I’m in a city called Wroclaw and, like most cities in Poland, they’re much more progressive than the small towns and villages that voted this trash government in.

He is man. Very open minded and progressive too. Says that he hopes our generation fixes s*** and that we have equality for all genders, races, creeds, religions and sexualities. He’s a special dude.
