The coining of the term "Scarin' the Hoes Music" made this whole thread worth it for me
so what if I’m white and Peggy is my favorite artist, but I feel like he deserves to be known for more than that damn white mosh pit photo

Ain’t you the nigga that’s giving out onlyfans scholarships?
I want to at least to able to sneak in a song like BALD! whenever I get passed the aux, and not get this look from people
Wait people think JPEG music appeals more to white people?
He can flow but the production is what going to hold him back.
He’s in a catch 22 where he can’t appeal to more blacker bases without alienating his white base heavily, or in terms, prob his critical acclaim.
He’s not a Freddie type where he can do both
I don’t get it I thought his production is what people loved about him

but WHO is putting black people in a box lol
and why is it wrong that someone dont like certain music lol
they were tryna act like someone is policing black people's ability to be weird and like jpeg lmao
What's gotta happen in order for his music to be more socially acceptable?
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBlRmwRVBpM!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6Doo17lb60!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PO3mri47s7MHe makes some genuinely dope songs and can really rap. Someone who bashes white people as much as he does shouldn't have to tolerate these types of terrible optics:
whoever ain’t listening 2 Jpeg got trash ears
So I read through most of the thread and in my opinion I think it just comes down to the type of music made. JPEG’s music is very left to center. Most people (yes, including black people) aren’t going to come across his music or really understand/like it and that just comes down to accessibility. Not everything meant to be accessible, some s*** just not and that’s cool. Accessible music will always be more popular than the other, I don’t think it’s a black or white thing
But honestly I have no idea, I haven’t really interacted with white people since I was in high school. My college experience was immersed in black culture. Most of the music I played was the accessible s*** because I knew the weirder s*** wasn’t gon be the vibe. It’s all about the vibes. There were a few black people I could play some weirder s*** around but that’s because they were more familiar with it or more open to it.
Wait people think JPEG music appeals more to white people?
I went to a jpeg show and had to havd been one of three of the black fans in the crowd
Anyone who samples ridge racer beautifully and rap they ass of is that nigga for me. Bald is on repeat forever.
All these niggas just want 1589 on repeat, that's all they know
I came here to s*** on this nigga but somebody itt said that he makes ”scarin the hoes music”
I’ll just leave him alone
Just find different friends fam
Mainstream casual music listeners are antithetical to experimental styles of music you just gotta find like minded people then just talk to your old fiends about their school or kids or sum s***
this beat is so fkn insane
and his delivery on it is hard too. Stg if his titles + fans werent so fantano-core 4chan white boy s*** he could blow up.
do you know the definition of racism?
You can be self-hating and racist. Equating experimental rap to be 'non-black' is disingenuous even if you are black yourself and racist to black people in that crowd imo
maybe theres a better word for it but thats my interpretation on the f***ery on the first page
The only people I know in real life that fw JPEG are people that stay on the internet and get their stuff from Fantano, reddit, and hiphopbythenumbers twitter.
I can see the appeal but i’ll never listen to his stuff more than once
