Cant tell if this is bait
sby gotta innovate on bethesda's behalf
starfield got me scared for TES6
they're so washed

modders save the experience every time
been playing thru modded VR skyrim. holy s*** man, its so much fun, i cant believe the busted release version was ever approved
Would rather play a good elder scrolls game than a good souls like. Problem is they don’t exist

yeah modded skyrim vr is insane
i’m so excited
day one would definitely love to get more high quality games like this but they're difficult to make properly, same reason that the majority of souls clones are trash
avowed coming so soon
Avowed isn’t open world though, as far as I’m aware it’s structured similarly to Outer Worlds.
Witcher 3?
Witcher 3?
Not the same really. It's really about being a fantasy simulator, or really just a highly detailed open-world game with a strong focus on its RP elements. The Witcher 3 has you play a strongly defined cinematic experience on the other hand. Love both of course but they fulfill very different needs.
takes more time and money, kingdom come deliverance 2 looks interesting tho
Kingdom Come is not fantasy at all nor does it have a side quest system that is similar to scrolls.
It's historical realism just like the first one taking place in a real time period and setting - no magic no monsters no crazy weapons no nothing like that and you die in two to 3 direct hits plus you have to manage food, water, sleep, injuries and disease too - and you dont create a character, its a story tied to Henry the main character.
Avowed, Dread Delusion, Wayward Realms and Tainted Grail is the ones for a "Skyrim-like".
KC2 will probably be good, but expecting "Skyrim" from it is just going to disappoint and make people mad and make the game a failure. The game's goals is totally different and plays way different. Only thing similar is that it's First Person with an open-world, that's it.
Checkout Tainted Grail (is in early access but its still a full fledged game with so much content and a storymode fully playable) and Dread Illusion on steam @op
One to keep an eye out that isnt out yet is Wayward Realms as well. It comes out next year and is made by the og Bethesda team that made ES Arena and ES Daggerfall. Looks great and is also being a full fledged RPG.
Then of course Avowed next year from Xbox. And if you want to get into Avowed's world early, check out the Pillar of Eternity games that are like Baldur's Gate 3. Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is really good, and Avowed is a pillars game as well just in a Elder Scrolls type of style and FPS. Pillars 2 is very deep in mechanics and a lot of its lore, themes, areas and races are being carried over to Avowed. Its highly acclaimed too. While Pillars 1 is more rough and budgeted.
