Nobody wants to talk about this

The actual people who made the original music gave him props but KTT knights know better apparently

Don’t forget Southside is in the Grand Slam video

I’ve said it before but Yeat is more of a problem than Ian is lol. Yeat’s image and lingo is damn near a caricature of black people. Ian just has a rap voice but everything else is him being himself

There’s a reason Yeat had an image crisis around his newest album

I guess you could say Ian is inauthentic too with the blaccent, lingo and rap cap - just instead of leaning into black stereotypes like Yeat he leans into white stereotypes in an ironic way. I love Ian from a production standpoint though , I'd love to hear someone like Carti on Sxprano beats.

Maybe but honestly Kenny Mason been stuck in like 2019-2021 era of rap for too long, Ian is making s*** that's different & that's why it's sticking out

How is it “different” when ppl literally been saying who he sounds like?

Kenny meanwhile actually tryna BE different.

He’s missing the point. We’re not arguing about beats, we’re arguing about authenticity.

Is it wack when black artists are frauds too? Absolutely.

But they’re playing in our face now with this super white kid.

The beats do play a part imo of his authenticity.

it's almost all down to the production, Ian raps like Future etc but his production very much sticks out vs every other rappers right now

no one would be listening to IAn if he was using Kenny Mason type beats

U dont think Ian will do the same thing?

This boy is from Highland Park, Dallas (which, some ktt texans have said is a bougie and used to be racist part of Dallas) which is probably why he nor anyone on his team mentioned where he from meanwhile he tryna talk like a nigga from MY city.

We (rightfully) killed Iggy for the same thing.

y'all gotta give latto the same treatment

There's a conversation to be had about africans taking advantage of rap culture, but KTT isn't the platform for it.

Just look at Burnas commens recently

I agree bro on all accounts

The price of running the sound of hip hop for decades.

Gucci and Thugger have spawned so many kids.

And it’s sad cause it’s LEGIT talent from here that niggas dont even put the spotlight on but a white boy not from here gets the attention?

Y'all OGs don't gatekeep and thats the problem. Rap need gatekeepers in general.

All I know is that this sub genre of trap should have been over with but convos like this do result in change so i’m glad Tyler spoke up cause now it just proves my theory about traditional rap making a comeback very soon.

On TikTok and IG, people use soul sample hip hop songs way more than they do these type of songs these days.

I think the difference between someone like Post Malone and Ian is that before Ian got attention he was making more interesting rap music and that he probably actually appreciates the music that inspired what he is making now.

Where as Post Malone was dropping guitar folk covers, switched to making the most generic radio rap bait he could, then switched back immediately when he started to fall off

I don't think Post Malone ever really wanted to create more interesting rap stuff and was never passionate about it or even all that interested in it at all.

I don't like the current image Ian has with his music and I think taking advantage of the meme he has is lame and he shouldn't do that but it's still different imo

Imagine telling a nigga in 2018 that in one year, thugger would be hit with a RICO, gunna would be damn near exiled, lil baby falls off, and takeoff AND Lil Keed would be dead.

All that happened in one year bro.

No wonder s*** been out of wack.
