"policing the way black people express"

My message will never get to tyler the creator. Nor am I telling him to shut the f*** up about cultural apropriation. I know for a fact you can read. I am saying its only so effective for tyler the creator a horrorcore past to speak about an Ian love of music. You call me a racoon like Tyler didnt get called exactly that for a justified reason

you are also quite projecting while hating on future "glorifying d*** use" but you are okay with horrorcore. So hororcore is accepted as fictional art form but what Future does has to be the truth otherwise he is lying in his raps

I am saying speaking on cultural apropriation isnt effective they can do whatever they choose with their life.

"what matters is if we let it change us"

Ian HAS NO EFFECT ON THE RAP OR HIP HOP COMMUNITY

69 HAS NO EFFECT ON THE RAP OR HIP HOP COMMUNITY

Great music drops regardless of if they exist or not

69 in particular especially in regards to Chicago was bait to see if someone would crash out to try to kill him and get a case

Me saying "dont respondd to the bait car" dont respond to the "bait craquer" placed there by those in power for us to respond to is common sense

same way if you knock out a white woman for calling you a Nigga you getting arrested point blank period its reality even if she is in the wrong

I am saying control YOUR EMOTIONS where a 19 year old white boy that has barely existed for half your life appropriates culture because you are a grown man and you know how the system works .

If Tyler spent the interview big upping new rap artist he liked THAT ARE BLACK IT WOULDNT GET THIS COVERAGE FROM THE SAME PEOPLE IN THIS THREAD COMPLAINING ABOUT IAN

SUPPORT WHAT THE F*** YOU SUPPORT AND BIG UP WHO THE F*** YOU WANT TO BE HERE

    YOU STUPID MOTHERFUCKER

yeah I have no idea what your deal is lol

you present yourself as this radical and as someone who has a great understanding why capitalism is bad but then can't understand basic things like why Black culture being commodified is an issue or why regardless of whether we can stop it or not we should still be able to address it publicly & spark a dialgoue.

you literally are a baby leftist and a cynical one at that.

You don’t think artists like Ian or 6ix9ine have an effect on rap or hip hop? I disagree.. the more successful a rapper gets the more influential they are which can lead to more “clones” especially in this era where artist are blowin up simply because they sound like a more popular/established artist.

You could argue that they are just byproducts of the community already being infiltrated by the clones tho

have an exponential effect on hip hop that stops some of our favorite art from being created. Sorry let me elaborate yes everything successful affects music. But does it effect or stop our favorite artist from creating or change anything that they are doing? widely not.

Create all the clones and agent smiths in the world we as niggas past 26 know what we like and aren't moved by that s***.

the attack of the clones will n ever end man

Me saying Tyler or any artist should spend more time speaking on what they like in the current hip hop scene more than what they don't like has and will always just be true

Again I worked with lupe when he was calling out Keef said the same to him even while we were organizing a non violence movement

calling out Keef didn't do anything for Chicago

call out the artist you f*** with in the game show them love give them flowers

Lil pump was always a meme at heart. Rapping over SpongeBob beats and s***.

“Lil pump oooh, lil pump yah”

Ian isn’t a meme rapper in that sense. The meme from comes from the juxtaposition of his appearance and how hard his music actually is.

The question you have to ask is, is it intentional and he’s just doing it on some meme s***, or is that just who he is?

I don’t see anything wrong with Tyler calling out the practice that’s happening wit these labels and expects and management teams turning hip hop into a damn near minstrel show. I think most people are just caught up on the fact he name dropped Ian

But we do need more people speaking on the fact that there is a lot less artists that are really dedicated to artistry and the craft of being a rapper/hip hop musician gettin the same looks and push compared to these niggas that use this s*** as a “trap”.

He usually means well and a good poster but you can tell when bro is just grasping at straws to push an agenda.

The same guy that called us fools for not listening to hour long lupe spaces wont sit for a 20 minute interview

agenda and bias no I genuinely came in here to see what Bu said what is the topic of the thread. I watched the tyler clip with full context . Then saw what people were saying on here.

Again I don't like Ian but I saw people saying that they can and should tell a 19 year old that they dont love music. When I don't know Ian or his love of music and that is a step too far and whatever you think of Ian his music gets love them kids dont give a f*** what tyler the creator thinks of Ian

Its not just about that man. Even if the show wasn't cancelled you are missing the point because you do this b**** nigga s*** of not discussing but trying to invalidate what someone saying because you dont want to read or write a paragraph

that was my reason for not rushing to watch an interview on a busy week where I was working in art and people been annoying at work and we about to drop a major product lol

Gotta listen to 20 mins of someone music to have an opinion of him when half his songs aint even that long is brazy. Ktt2 already forced ian on everybody so yes, from what I’ve heard yes it’s just atlanta (you know where i’m from) cosplay.

Now understanding tyler’s words from an interview in context (HE NEVER SAID IAN’S NAME) yeah, you gonna have to sit through it.

I agree wit that. Creators gon create.. I haven’t watched the whole interview but it didn’t come off as Tyler simply s***tin on artists he doesn’t like I think he was using him as an example to criticize the industry ona broader level. The MFs pushing the buttons… on top of maybe discussing the s*** he doesn’t like about what’s happening in hip hop now

I also agree yeah I would like to hear him speak on the artists he likes and big them up too. But I don’t think it’s anything wrong with someone as big as Tyler also using the moment to discuss his grievances. We all don’t have to like the same things.

I guess the question is what exactly does Tyler or we as a whole get out of these discussions. I personally don’t care what Ian or any of these “YWA” sound like because I’m not listening to them but I can also recognize the marketing schemes being done no matter what race a rapper is.
