Once again I just want to say that online forum arguments are secondary to the actual issue on the ground that's happening to human beings.

Each day we're given more and more examples of how they are not limiting it to just "violent" criminals or whatever.

This "20 (or 22) million" figure that Trump is always proposing is signaling that there are 20+ million people he has considered valid targets imo. There's no way any rational person believes that there are 20 million violent criminals running around all day, instead of actually just working to pay the bills and survive and provide for their family.

While we're at it, I'll mention a fun-fact that the IRS has recently proven without a doubt that undocumented immigrants pay taxes, even if they dont have a SSN, they likely have an ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number), and they are allowing ICE to use this info to find undocumented people. irs.gov/tin/itin/individual-taxpayer-identification-number-itin

Lets look at the optics here - you're telling someone who doesn't watch the news and is uninformed on the topic to "shut up" when they're asking questions about what they've heard. You're hurt and disturbed over a person wanting to believe that things were being done the right way. Obviously I'm upset at the injustice if they aren't which knowing Trump, chances were low.

We don't have time to hope and project what we wish was happening, onto reality.

We have to look at the material impact of the decisions of people in power and how it is affecting any given community.

Whether its cutting available funding and resources that go to people who need certain services to live (medical/health reasons and so on), or eliminating protections for growing numbers of people that makes them more vulnerable to the state doing whatever the hell they want to them

So what dog you want me watching fox news or to have dialogue with actual people that can give me a more personal and heartfelt view on things? Cause thats what I was doing by asking. Word of mouth and conversation is a VALID way of getting informed and this is a large enough forum that THAT is what I was hoping for, not getting burned at a stake.

The issue people had is its a bit late in the game to recognize something is off, and of course we're more emboldened to say "fuck u idiot" and talk s*** on a forum thats just the internet lifestyle. People don't know u as a person. They just know whatever u post in a thread. But that's not constructive

I think its better late than never though, if u can brush off some of the insult hurling to gain some useful information that helps u understand whats happening, thats a positive thing.

It's also important to think critically about the narratives someone in power is communicating, and pair that with other sources and try to determine what is closest to the truth. Especially when the stakes are high.

You can look up articles at any time and it will probably make you feel more confident in your own knowledge.

The video, which was taken by another woman and shared on social media, shows the woman walking down a street alone. A line of law enforcement officers appear to tell her to leave the area.

Moments later there is a loud bang as one of the officers appears to fire at the woman, who steps back after being hit and staggers away.

Later she can heard saying: “I live here.”

The woman who filmed the incident runs to the victim, who is crying, and helps her sit down before moving across the street as the officers continue to shout orders. “They literally just shot her point-blank,” the woman filming says.

The Los Angeles police department did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Wednesday morning.

“Less than lethal”, “non-lethal” or “less lethal” munitions – such as rubber, plastic or sponge bullets, and pepper balls – are sometimes deployed in the US by law enforcement during protests to disperse crowds. Despite the name, these munitions have caused serious injury and death in the past.

On Sunday, the Australian journalist Lauren Tomasi from Nine News was shot in the leg by a rubber bullet while reporting live from the protests.
