The era was coming to a end anyways due to natural causes (Age, shift in sound, intrests, etc.)
But the Kendrick beef speedran it.
that planned graceful exit idea seems less likely now
…not because of the crumpet eater
The maple syrup don blueprinted this approach. He's just not the best at it anymore
They’re trying to position Central Cee.
i fw cench man im happy for him he’s getting pop and international placements and is still really about it
So you agree neither are superstars.
I’d also say Uzi makes music for the ages 12-17.
No, We got different definitions of super Stars. I do are that they're not code to drake or kendrick ... but like that's drake or. Kendrick.

I’d define a rap superstar as multiple platinum albums and multiple arena tours.
That won't happen. But Kendrick outselling Drake the next season they drop albums is gonna be interesting. That's actually a plausible situation

Yeah uzi and carti got that for sure but i mean due to streaming everything is debatable.

Honestly interested in seeing how his debut does in US fw. Huge variable, could see it posting like 30k or randomly doing like 100k or some s***
Really unique trajectory, feel like he’s everywhere and B4B shows it’s finally registering chart wise
I get the impulse but I think people here focus too much on age lol.
It’s entirely possible that in like 2029 Drake Kendrick etc are as big commercially as they are now.

im not convinced on him blowing up in the US until he gets a solo hit that isn’t a meme like doja but im hopeful he will
Nobody gonna take that spot because labels are too scared of rap rn to throw that kinda money behind an unestablished name

Bad press around the drill and trap scenes is a big thing. I think it’s not a coincidence that a lot of people started feeling that there were no new stars coming up in rap at the same time as the YSL RICO. That and there have been a lot of “flops” if you wanna call them that as people’s music listening habits have changed over the last 4-5 years. Overall it feels like labels are really skittish on new young acts in rap and aren’t pushing the genre as much as they were 10 years ago. That doesn’t mean anything for the quality of the music, but I do think it’s the major reason that we don’t have a new ubiquitous superstar

Yea hip hop aint as potent culturally as it was a decade ago.
Too many new genres and scene's have popped up.
Afrobeats, DJ culture, Twitch culture, Gaming culture, reaction videos' etc. etc.
