But most of those show aren’t aired live. They can take the audience recording from that live taping and do whatever they need to do with it in post-production to give the biggest jokes the biggest laughs. SNL, mid as it is, is not a great example of laugh tracks being used to make a show seem funnier than it is.

There are great shows that have laugh tracks but I totally get not wanting to feel like you’re being instructed when to laugh or told what’s supposed to be funny.
