If Takecare isn't a classic than neither is any of J.Cole or Nicki Albums.
Why aren't the Young Thugs Coles Asap Rockys under scrutiny for not delivering classic albums?
Of Course....
Well, it's already proven he has at least 3 classic albums
SFG (once it went on streaming it became an album to me)
Take Care (Self explanitory)
NWTS (Not my favorite drake album, but self explanitory)
There's no real tangible way anyone can say those three aren't his classics.
I'd argue If You're reading this is a classic as well.
Anybody who says Drake doesn’t have classic albums is insane. Either that or they 40+ and don’t understand music released post 2010
At this point, why Drake DOESNT have a classic is far more of an interesting discussion.
He's like Rap's Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye.
Mans really said Drake has 3 classics wow
Ktt is ridiculous
you probably think DAMN is a better project than any of drake’s right? lmao

not a Drake fan like that but
TC, NWTS and IYRTITL are classics imo
SFG too but we talking about albums
Scorpion, Dark Lane, Take Care (409 weeks) (Views 242 weeks) Nothing Was the Same (355 weeks)
Are all still on Billboard 200 albums chart.
Only on KTT and the internet do these things not matter. The first thing you do when you talk about a classic MJ or prince album, the first thing people will say is their billboard success.
But w/Drake it's irrelevant lol

it was always like that on ktt
I remember stan wars during 2014-2016 when everybody would bring up sales in arguments who's better but with drake people clowned you that sales don't mean s***
oh good old days on ktt1 lol
they don't make like them anymore
Can’t believe y’all still partaking with these bozos about this. He has classics case closed

I feel like it depends on how you define "a classic"
What is more valuable:
Music that is objectively 10/10
or
Music that had an impact on redefining the genre's sound and has long lasting nostalgia beyond that era
Anybody who says Drake doesn’t have classic albums is insane. Either that or they 40+ and don’t understand music released post 2010
You nailed with the 40+ comment because, it's usually those type of people
I think social media, and the every presence and access to music has made people lose the feeling of a classic, and as a result the bar for a classic has been pushed to an insane level. Social Media gives everyone a voice, which allows for over a***yzation of the music. But the reality is,
You don't have to be Michael Jordan to get into the basketball hall of fame.
You also don't have to be Michael Jackson or 2Pac to have classic albums.
It's hard to feel an album as classic when you can disregard the radio to listen to what you want to daily, and there's no MTV or VH1 BET etc. that we can use as a form of reference for an album's impact. So like, if your album has spent a decade charting w/a peak of #1, you probably have a classic. This wouldn't even be a discussion if this was 1997 and Drake had the success w/Views, NWTS, TC, etc. It would easily be a classic.

Rocky has classics. Thug has classics.
Mixtapes though.

This also applies to Nicki, J. Cole as well.
There's no way in good faith that you can say FHD or Pink Friday isn't a classic. There's no tangible argument for this
I think if you're culturally relevant, with multiple number one albums, multiple hit singles, longevity, it's hard then to say that certain rappers DONT have classics.
Like you guys are saying that guys like Drake, Cole, Big Sean (yes), don't have classics but to varying degrees, they've been relevant for over a decade, with multiple number one albums and gigantic moments / singles.
Idk, i just think this discussion is overly complicated due to the times we live in. There aren't many rappers EVER that have lasted 10 years.
