  • Does it open a lane for new NY rap moguls to come up? Or does it make the scene even harder to get motion in?

If those two go down there will be a huge gap in music industry power from the east

That would be like if QC went down in ATL or TDE n Dr.Dre goin down on the west

    Doesnt matter at all

Neither have taken any interest in making any NY artist pop, Diddy hasnt made a new significant artist from anywhere in idk how long.

  • With NY being the birthplace of HipHop I don’t think it will crumble legacy wise due to Diddy and Jay Z

But in terms of Rap Moguls the vacuum is definitely going to be there with 50 being the last man standing from that generation

let go and evolve - or continue to die and fall behind south and west and canada

  • Doesn’t change s*** imo

Diddy hasn’t mattered since the 90’s and Jay hasn’t dropped an album in 7 years

Actually think it helps NY honestly

A NY without a Jay-Z or Diddy influence seems like it would open up room for growth and evolution

New moguls would rise with a whole new approach to pushing NY rap

The last one Diddy had was French Montana. Outside of him, Jay Z and Diddy really ain't did s*** for NY rappers for a majority of the 2010s.

i think it hurts the legacy of ny rap, which at this point is all they have

Yeah, the last iteration of bad boy was the french/mgk/los one. After that hes basically done as an exec.

Jay has Roc management but its not like theyve taken any particular interest or focus on making a NY rapper.

In Jay's defense I do believe they manage Rocky and Griselda

But you are correct they like to step in after someone else has already done the ground work

They definitely do not build up Ny artist's

It's funny how some of the biggest movements in NY in the 2010s with ASAP Mob, Beast Coast, Bobby Shmurda, and Pop Smoke, the NY rap icons turned execs with their own labels, had nothing to do with signing them or making them bigger lol anything they've done is when they already made a name for themselves.
