tbh i'm not checking for any rapper post 40. Ye's legacy is cemented, if he gives us more greatness that's awesome, if not I'm indifferent.

No Dylan went from zeitgeist stature to sucking for a whole decade then came back with a bunch more masterpieces. Just one example. Imperial phase may be over.

  • I don't feel like ye or JIK has tarnished his reputation anywhere except on this site/music critics. Ye came along side the crazy spectacle of Kanye running for president etc. and JIK coming along with his growing faith in religion, Sunday services and the DMX funeral service.
Whether or not the albums made any impact musically, I feel like them being attached to this crazy time in his life makes them an equally valid part to the rest of his discog.

Not at all cuz drake still unleashes huge hits and massive sales in his sleep

Drake plays it safe. Kanye actually attempts to make albums and music

Honestly guys Kanye sxn vibe down bad. Don’t blame you guys though
Your dude asked Drizzy to fly to Wyoming and help him write for his album, which he did. Then he spilled the beans to Pusha about his son
He aligned with alt right nut jobs and Trump, and claimed slavery was a “choice”. Among other absurd thoughts
Now he’s releasing his third recycling bin classic in a row, and even with Drakes help, his albums can’t be salvaged anymore.
Just staying silent until Drake begins his rollout, then teasing a bunch of lame subliminals and church concerts. Only way to keep the popularity. The music doesn’t speak for itself anymore. Parasite.

Kanye is the biggest he’s ever been

You think the Yeezy brand wouldn’t be selling so many shoes if everyone has stopped f***ing with Kanye? or everyone being obsessed with when Yeezy GAP s*** is releasing? Say what you want about the dip in quality music wise post 2016, but Kanye ain’t going anywhere regardless if this next album is bad or not

    math fifty

    Except HOV

    And many others

  • Nah I don’t think so. The greatest artists like Bowie and Prince gave us subpar albums. He’s still capable of giving us a masterpiece, he just needs the right circumstances.

I think it already is. Ye was a 0/10 and JIK just too niche for general people to enjoy.

The run is over - it doesn't mean he's 'finished' but everyone knows he's not the music creator he used to be.

  • Jul 19, 2021

    Yes for me personally
    No in general tho
