Jay is more so for the consistency in his popularity & artistry. Most his projects received favorable reviews (if that’s what we’re passing artistry on) besides his few low points like BP2, Kingdom Come, & MCHG. Not to mention his influence

Im not basing anything on reviews lol, im basing it what most people in this thread are trying to base s*** on.

So called popularity & "running s***" when he was always the 2nd to 5th man. Thats literal facts even when it comes to other NY artists. People arent saying kanye was "running s***". People talk more to his "vision" & ideas as being above others.

    I dont care about reviews.

Jay is top 10 to me but the exaggeration or biased false arguments are crazy.

I agree, his consistency is great., his influence too but his influence didnt come till later. Those im not disagreeing with, im just disagreeing with him being the "untouchable number 1 in his prime" & "endlessly running s***" which is false, doubly so when you leave east coast.

I do think hes great tho & a goat overall. BP1, Reasonable Doubt & Vol 3 are some of my fav rap albums.

  • Why does KTT hate on Kendrick all of a sudden? lol

This is all fair, I don’t want to move goal posts because idk what others were claiming when they say run the summer but imo you can run a summer without having the highest selling album for example Future.

And you say Jay is over exaggerated but have ppl ready to put Kendrick over him for 3-4 projects

I hope this Kendrick album is really good. Not TPAB good. Like actually good. Niggas bumping it for real.

Cuz ya Kenny fans gonna turn casuals away wit the level of d***eating that’s going on lol

  • May 11, 2022

    his album will go wild

  • I’d give it a few more years before we consider that but there’s little doubt in my mind Kendrick will surpass him and be the overall goat of the genre. I don’t even listen to Kendrick a whole lot just think the way his public reception and role has been going is that he’ll be treated like the goat.

    He never will.

He ain’t played that album since he tweeted that

People forget Hov dropped an elite album a year, during 8 years. Multiple classics, great albums and radiot hits. This is an insane run, no one ever matched this. Kendrick can't match that.

Preach. This why Hovengers and in general Jay d***riders over 35 just blow me. They got revisionist history. If you let them tell it, Jay ran rap from reasonable doubt to black album. A lot of them even talking about Kingdom Come is a great album, possibly another classic under his belt.

Just a couple weeks ago Charlamagne was calling 4:44 hip hop Thriller

Lmfao or because they two of the best rap albums ever?

Big cap but I'm not gonna knock another man's opinion.

It's all subjective at the end of the day but both of those albums to me are not even Top 10.

btw this is a good thread, good debate. KTT as it should be not a bunch of nonsense.

Mr. Morale is gonna be amazing, I'm definitely in the camp that believes Kendrick's best work is ahead of him.
