rappers stay more relevant than singers for a longer period of time. Also in the last 10 years rappers (especially American rappers) have been way more popular than American singers around the world. People around the world that don’t even listen to western music can name pac, biggie, and even jay-z but when it comes to singers the only name that will come to mind will be MJ, even though they know him cause of the moon walk

Shouldn’t singers get more credit since singing is pure talent, while rapping can be acquired by training?

EDIT: go look at @cole_breezy aka the crack fiend, I mean Chris fiend’s answer on the second page

Nobody gives a s*** about what takes more talent. As long as they can tap they toe to it, they’ll listen

Since when do people enjoy a song based on how difficult it is to make? Do you see jazz reaching no1 regularly?

what? Singing can be trained, you're completely wrong.

some people might be able to control their vocal chords better but you don't get to be a good singer without proper training.

Only if they have a natural singing voice. The Weeknd for instance was trained after the mixtapes but only because he already had a voice

  • People just like songs with a nice melody that’s it. You could say the talent lies in finding a good song structure

Singing and rapping can both be trained

They are just different arts with a lot of overlap

The biggest rappers of the 2010s also sing (drake, kanye)

The biggest singers of the 2010s also rap (weeknd, frank ocean)
