Idk why people assume “haven’t taken a deep dive”, I’ve seen majority of the Criterion films niggas regard on here as the greatest works of all time. While I like/love a good amount of them I would still put films like Godfather, Goodfellas, Departed, Dark knight, etc. over those.

that being said i do not tolerate the cockiness or people who turn their noses up to these films once they "discover" foreign films.. (they're all foreign to me practically, im swedish).

personally, i think i've neglected films like in OP, not out of disdain but curiousity for other cultures' films. leaves less time for stuff like that. i spent 6 years watchin films like those until i got interested in foreign and swedish films and now im just trying to catch up on lost time.
