Could you elaborate or give an example because i don’t see it
I find it strange that whenever theres a new release 'produced by alchemist' all physicals are sold through his webstore. sometimes theyre sold half and half through another artist too but theres always the 'alc version.' yes presumably its because he has the infrastructure for it but I wonder what happens if at some point some artists says they dont want alc in their s*** and they dont wanna do double release. its these behind the scenes s***s that im wondering about

even if we compare with backwoodz who actually want to release both their people and random musicians (like they just released some European indie band's album) theres at least a sense of woods trying to build something akin to a proper label
with alc it just seems like he always wants a cut and uses his production style that he got down pat along with some sort of infrastructure for physicals to get his out of everyone he works with
the producer that networks with rappers and gives everyone beats has a better career than the producer who almost exclusively makes beat tapes and drops randomly, shocking
well maybe I dont like dudes whose brand is exclusively linking and building. bro is moving like pharrell for backpackers and I dont love that motherfucker either
He’s been making amazing beats for over two decades, not really seeing the problem - nobody’s mad at knxwledge for selling beat tapes either
Nah Alc was already known in hip hop before he even reinvented himself within the modern underground space. He produced classics and big records two decades ago.
His race has nothing to do with it there are plenty of white producers that are way less known than both Knx and Alc.
Can’t hate on him because reestablished himself to stay in then game. He did what he was supposed to do.

In the age of streaming services paying a fraction of a cent per stream i dont find it weird or predatory tbh
Alc definitely benefits from wealth and whiteness
I'm also on the side that he is overrated but I can't compare his work to others because he actually did do the work, regardless of what he was initially provided with
Knxwledge we really gotta keep it real with how this 'business acumen' personal characteristic translates depending on who's doing it
knx selling beat tapes that all sound the same on bandcamp: hes weird he should do normal releases he burned all his bridges
alchemist producing albums that all sound the same while also squeezing his rapper friends for any pull they have: wow hes so good for our culture hes a legend!
you might not like this because its me who's making this thread but if you look past it you'll see that im right idk im slowly getting on the f*** alc train along with the rest of youse

I might be reading into it a bit too deep but Ill still be on the lookout for bro
White privilege can obviously play a role in the careers of musicians.. but we talkin about a producer who came up producing for relatively “underground” hip hop acts of the 90s and early 2000s. You could argue that he just really started seeing real success as an artist after 20+ years in the game
It’s niggas that are fans of ALC beats that had no clue he was white. Including artists he’s worked with lol

I understand where you coming from but I don’t think Alc is one of those whites.
If Spaceghostpurrp didn’t have schizophrenia Alchemist would be working at McDonalds

Alchemist rapping about a big bowl of spaghetti
Big Hit: Yeah this a nigga alright
