As someone who doesn't care either way and based on your replies the way you phrase this is almost like you got a victim complex. It's ironic because you're the one who agreed with them mostly until the slightest hint of Elon's ability was criticized then you went into defense mode​ It's completely okay to put your pride aside and just either admit your weren't entirely right or try to explain yourself better.

Just stating the obvious but unless it's an autobiography (even those are questionable at times) most other biographies are entertaining first and accurate second. They're goal is to exaggerate the details and tell you the same story but get you to pay to hear or read it again. I've never heard Elon say he thinks he could really build a spaceship himself (much less actually show anyone he could) so maybe that's why those guys were skeptical too. You got a source or not?

I can admit I might've given him more respect in that subjects than he deserves but he still deserves enormous respect for pushing the boundaries and starting things most people think are impossible
