How could anyone think that having a great DaBaby verse that actually fits with the theme of the song is worse than having a verse that Jay wrote and recorded in about 20 minutes that doesn't make any sense on the record and is corny as f***

the significance of the song used to be kanye's mentor reuniting with him and bringing him home after the most chaotic and controversial years of his life, basically bookending the post-UCLA phase of his career. now it's just a response to a meme rapper's controversy, there's no catharsis in that and it holds no greater meaning other than pissing people off for a week and then promptly being forgotten about.

    I’m safe

  • Both verses great

Dababys lyrics fits the theme more and has more energy

But Hovs flow and quotables fits better with the anthemic epic sound of the song

    Ye should keep both verses

dababy verse actually prolly the best dababy verse ever i hate dababy's music

i hated the change at first but now i actually prefer this version if ye is gonna go through with it

i still think ye will bring back jay but honestly why not both because i really like dababy verse

No one gives a s*** about what either Dababy or HOV was rapping about lmao hahaha the mere fact that he hopped on the song was all anyone cared for or needed like stop this dumb s*** imagine 2 icons coming together after nearly 10 years of beef being ruined for a edge lord moment with Dababy and Manson like stop this s***

I said it in the album thread, it depends on what is the purpose of the song, if it's a fun song like 4 5 seconds with jail as a metaphor then Jay Z version rocks, really has this positive vibes.
On the other hand, if it's a literal Jail that the person in the song has a chance to arrive in then Da Baby and Manson make more sense.
Anyway, I don't care about Da Baby verse, he is a s***ty person, and taking Jay Z off after it brought so much hype seems childish and disrespectful. I don't even feel this beat as much without Jay Z, it suddenly feels not as cheesy High School Musical 4 beat, but just boring.
