Is there any way to have library syncing on while also being able to add your own MP3s? For instance there’s s*** like mixtapes that aren’t on Apple Music, so I added them to my phone library by hand. Problem is, when I turn on library syncing so that I would be able to make playlists and s*** from Apple Music itself, it deletes everything that wasn’t from Apple Music. For this reason, I have library sync turned off, which gets really inconvenient, because I have to type out every song or project I wanna listen to.

Tried Google, but finding answers for this specific problem was going nowhere.

I thought you kept what you had but couldn’t add more of your own stuff if you turn that on. In any case I always have it off because it f***s up my artwork and tagging.

It’s definitely possible, I have library syncing on and add s*** manually all the time. It’s been so long I can’t remember what I did settings wise but I’m sure somebody else will be able to help.

All I do is add s*** to iTunes, right click the album and click add to iCloud library (I think?) and it syncs

stop complicating things, just go ahead and sync all libraries on ur mac or windows.
upload them to the apple music servers,
and then when you import any new songs they will also add straight in regardless of if they are on apple music or not, and they can be used across all devices.

as someone else said beware though it WILL f*** up your artwork and some of your music. its not the end of the world but just backup your local library.

it only happens with apple music? that sound like you got the mono audio setting turned on for your phone.

  • Wait hold up, so de-sync, then add from computer, then turn on re-sync?

I just wanna hear LLA without going to the datpiff app

Yep you need to make sure icloud is on and make sure you “Add to iCloud library” on the albums you upload yourself

  • Can someone make like a yt walkthrough or something? This is my only real gripe with AM

  • Jun 6, 2020

all you got to do is go into the music settings on your phone and turn off sync library. when you hook your phone up to itunes after that you get the option to add stuff directly from your library. when you done just turn back on the sync library option.

Are you talking about Apple Music w/ iCloud Music Library, or just Apple Music (non-subscription) and syncing with iTunes to get music?

    Post is a bit confusing

Ah. Never had the issue personally. I just add whatever mixtape, properly tagged etc to iTunes, right click and add to iCloud Music Library. Rarely had issues with songs not appearing/things being deleted.

i think he mighta thought he could do it all from his phone so when he turned it on it could have messed with his offline downloads idk. Def seems like he didn't know you start the process on desktop
