damn, that woulda been a good idea. what you study?
Engineering Management!
dont even get me started on the sports games fall off smh....
id pay $80 for nfl 2k5 with online and current rosters tbh
i play madden 23 head to head once in a while to try to fill the craving but its so ass
yeaahhhhhh I only buy madden like once every 3 or 4 years... also rocking Madden 23 rn. new rosters don't have Tom Brady so what's even the point anymore
$50 for two tickets to Fantastic Four
Snacks at the cinema, barbers, candy. Even essentials you need for basic hygiene like a toothbrush are expensive now
Games are $80. They've gone up 1/3rd of the price since 360/PS3 gen. You aren't willing to pay that. Why do you HAVE to play a game at launch or complain about the fact that you can't because it's too expensive when you could just...wait for it to inevitably get cheaper
During that time you could cop other games that are now cheaper because you waited, there's no reason to play games at launch other than FOMO/spoilers. Just sounds like entitlement
Meanwhile our prices of games have doubled in that same period. From 700 to 1500. I wasn't even willing to pay 700 for 360 games, so I've bought barely anything at launch on PS4. Still have too many games in my backlog and not enough time to play them all
If you aren't willing to pay $80, get a new hobby. Or get you a PC and try emulating. Because it's only going up from here
Lol these dudes really invent new ways of saying they liked being f***ed in the ass by these companies. Just say that.
Maybe get a job. Earn some income and you have less time to waste gaming.
I have not gamed since I started working fr
nah idk, them parking lots at my local movie theaters are full every night as long as it’s some movies out lmao
there’s been a lot of big culture moment movies, I don’t think it’s going away any time soon
I mean but you're talking about what, like 3 big cultural movies a year that exist right now that really draws people to the theathers? The other 97% of movies that exist don't do much for people. There are definetly more people today on sub services than going to the movies.

funnily enough my most used team is the Bucs with Tom Brady lol
im on ps4 tho
didnt even buy that s*** either, i downloaded the trial during the free weekend and it never kicked me off
it lets me play online for free too bc its classifys it as a free game lol
Americans keep complaining about this but y'all don't realise how lucky y'all have had it
New games were 700 in my currency during the 360/PS3 gen. Imagine being a kid/teen, earning no income and having to ask your parents for 700 bucks so you can buy a video game
PS4/XB1 gen games were 1000, current gen games are like 1300-1500
And before y'all talk about exchange rates and how it's the same because the dollar is 20x our currency - our salaries aren't 20x yours. I got 2 degrees and I'm earning 8000 a month, about $450. I'd have to spend my entire month's salary + another half of my salary to buy a PS5 disc version
Gaming is expensive but imagine having to spend a rack on a game or 12 racks on a console
two wrongs dont make a right type beat
Lol these dudes really invent new ways of saying they liked being f***ed in the ass by these companies. Just say that.
Wa wa me want new video game NOW
I think why I'm disagreeing with people in here is I don't care about video games enough to care about how much they cost at launch. I'm still on a PS4 with a backlog of like 50 games and can wait another year for a PS5
Maybe I'm used to high prices because it's always been this way since I got a console 20 years ago
It's just crazy to me if you expect video game prices to stay the same after they already have for decades when the price of everything else has been sky rocketing

dude's on PS4 calling other people here broke, the nerve....
yall are so brainwashed like they arent nickel and diming us on every corner
we're not even getting good completed games for $80
not to mention charging us for online which is literally all pure profit basically
That’s the whole thing. I could MAYBE understand $80 for a completed finished, polished game but how often do we ever get those?
Anyways yea your whole post is facts. Paid online is another huge scam
For those wondering, Switch 1 sold 2.74 million units worldwide in its first 29 days on sale from Friday March 3rd, 2017 to Friday, March 31st, 2017.
Switch 2 outsold it by 760k units in less than 1/7th of that time.
Nintendo dorks really love sucking Mario d***
Beating fomo is the key to enjoy this hobby without spending too much. I only buy games full price when i mean to play them immediately and only those im really hyped about, anything else im getting used or waiting for big deals
unironically though if you're not making enough to spend $80 every few months, just get a new hobby
It’s not about making enough money. I make more than enough to drop $80 on games weekly (if I wanted to) but I could never justify their value. Gaming should never become some “premium” hobby. There’s such a tiny handful of games that can justify $80
Variable pricing is the way. Not every video game should be $80. Some can justify it and I don't mean by volume of content. I would pay $80 for a new Kojima title. I would not pay $80 for a new CoD.
I can agree with that, but realistically that’s not how it’ll go, which is the problem
mfs not realizing that development costs went up, shipping and distribution costs went up, marketing costs went up, etc etc. braindead
Make a good game on a tighter budget + more people buy it because it’s good = profit????
mfers spend more than that on a pair of shoes they wear twice
dont tell me what to do with my money b****

well i disagree
there are many games that justify it almost on artistic value alone. not to mention the hours, and potentially years, of entertainment. Throw in the large variety of skills involved and the nature of the economy and then you get games having a higher price range. Games should be priced at what they're worth considering those factors
games go on sale so fast now to warrant paying full price in general
I still do it though
