If you think the line “That’s why I charge the prices that I charge” is doo doo then you are f***ing stupid.

You charge prices based on what you think you are worth.

Clearly kanye thinks he is worth a lot so it reflects his prices.

Nothing wrong with this, ya’ll are just jelly.

If you disagree, go charge people pennies for your work and let me laugh at you while you try to survive in hell.

nah the line is good because it's so a******ish/selfish sounding. the song right after it is everything we need, so in the story of the album he realizes that he doesnt need to be selfish anymore.

You guys put too much thought into the whole “Kanye’s an a****** at the beginning of the album but learned his lesson by the end” theory

most good albums have a story lol

if you really think kanye just randomly threw the tracklist together the night before the drop then you need help

But I really doubt Kanye’s thought process was “I’m gonna put three songs on the beginning of the album that show people how I USED to think”

Not denying that albums don't tell a story that he hasn't in the past. But its stupid to boil it down to thinking that Kanye it truly saying "At one point in my life I thought I was being taxed too much but now I'm okay" when there is no clear indication of him feeling regretful of that anywhere. Especially when he too proudly and unapologetically says it in the song to begin with.

And lets be real, JIK does not have nowhere a conceptual story to it as much as much as MBDTF, Yeezus or even Ye does.

And Kanye talking about his gigantic tax return to James Corden proves that he's not regretful.

As long as people buying his products, I don't see nothing wrong with this line. He doesn't force anybody to buy.

  • Nov 12, 2019

It’s like the least interesting lyric on the album but people needed something to complain about.

i dont think he needs to come out and express regret to show character development, changing the tone/lyrical focus of the album toward the last 4 or 5 tracks did it for me

you can't deny that Selah and Follow God have pretty big differences in tone compared to God Is and Water. the change in tone is reflective of the changes in Kanye and his view on religion. that is why the album works really well for me

Am I the only one who remembers him talking about how classism and not being able to afford certain s*** is the new racism and how he wants his shoes to be in Payless...he kinda did that for a large portion of the middle of this decade. Am I imagining that?

So to hear him say this kinda makes me look at him as a f*** nigga. If you pay attention enough, he's a smart dude that knows how to play crazy but the whole time he be knowing what he be doing. Act like you're just this dreamy crazy idealistic dude who wants to save the world. but whole time you're just like the rest of em you just knew how to market yourself.

S*** like that + "God showing off with me he gave me a $70 Million Tax Return"...lol while kids starve "God showing off"

this s***s just all nasty (joe budden voice)
