Imagine slowly hobbling through the halls of your complex with an IV drip attached to you when all of a sudden your landlord appears besides you and asks “So, you got the rent for the month yet?”.
You stop and wearily turn your head to look at them and whisper in response “No…I don’t.” in a feeble, exhausted tone.
They respond with “Well, get on it.” and slap you on the back which results in you careening forward and falling down the stairs.
That’s the American Dream right there.
