I was getting ripped off paying $386 for 1999 GMC Jimmy and when that finally broke down, the dealership I went to my friend works at said “since you don’t have any established credit history or vehicle history, we can only get you a new car with no history.”

And like wtf else was I suppose to do I didn’t have the resources to get to and from work in middle of butt f*** Montana so ig I’ll just get the cheapest new vehicle y’all got. Geico wanted OVER 600 DOLLARS FOR INSURANCE and even with my current that s*** is still ridiculous

I’m like dog I just got done being homeless and there’s been so much extra s*** and unnecessary treatment and behaviors I could fill the whole first page up

That's why I will never step foot into another dealership unless I'm just ballin out of control n one of their cars really catches me. You will never get a better deal than buying from a private seller. You should learn the fundamentals of cars so u can inspect them yourself.
I took a whole class on cars and actually got credits toward an automotive tech degree because I want to officially learn about that once I get an IT
career going, n it was all cuz I bought a lemon of a car n was pissed off

But u should still always pay a mechanic to check the car out. It shouldn't cost more than like 80-100 dollars for that service. n it's a real service u can ask for at any viable mechanic.
The fundamental knowledge is mostly just for the preliminary check to make sure ur not wasting ur time

It was in biweekly payments so $193 every paycheck essentially. Used cars are becoming scarce out herre in Portland, but tbh my plan was to buy a decent used vehicle and try to fix up my current car and goin back to a dealership
