is he trying to communicate those ideas he said in the drink champs interview in this song? or is he just saying the word "homeless" after he had previously said the word "homeless" in an interview

What does it mean to find your soul?
Pay the toll on the broken road
Pay the toll on the broken road
Baby, I'm free, baby, I'm free, like a homeless person
No matter how much you got you can't own this person
Sometimes I feel like the only honest person
When somebody snatch your soul and karate didn't work
When you 'bout to lose all hope, the sun rose and opened roads

this doesnt sound like he's bragging or s***, and much less like he's trying to describe the everyday experience of a homeless person

also he's speaking in all positives about himself what are you talking about silly???

Volunteer work and yea I remember specifically having a conversation with a guy who basically didn’t agree with societal standards… Working a 9-5 at a place you hate just to barely make ends meet until you’re 80 said it sounded like slavery to him, hilarious coming from a white man

in many ways it is chosen over homeless shelters

I was homeless throughout pandemic and interviewed homeless

it saved up money and its the freedom to go wherever and sleep in car

i get that, i don't think shelters are really a good solution. i just think its kind of at odds with him saying he wants to build a commune and saying f*** nfts etc

  • Feb 24, 2022

The current system of shelters they basically treat the homeless like prison with barcodes.

Even trying to get Chicago homeless checked in who did want shelter was a difficult process 2020

There is a freedom to being able to walk wherever or really move wherever at any time. Its a different kind of freedom though with different restrictions. When I am like wherever my car goes thats my capacity

or in his case a backpack

Not held down to rent surging prices, mortage, landlords

the freedom to ask or help friends and nomad like is different

I would say he is out of touch but he does work for the homeless and wants to build shelters

obviously I cant recommend the homeless experience for everyone but s*** did change my life for the better overall bigger picture

Ye is in a way combatting the idea that homeless are seen as lessers

S*** WHEN I WAS HOMELESS AND EVERYONE GOT MAD AT THE FIRST OF THE MONTH I WAS LAUGHING MY ASS OFF cause every cold moment in the car or isolation or not being able to go home I was up a thousand dollars

It was like Survivor for me

    and I made it

Some do sure but there's a lot that will tell you they chose it because the alternative is embarrassing to them

Not that it should be embarrassing. There's a lot of cruelty in the world
