Nah Jimmy was always black. We’re saying artists like Jimmy, basquiat, Tyler etc are becoming more appreciated by young black people because that “oh that’s some white people type s***” mentality is fading away.

For example Tyler said like 2 years ago in an interview that his song got played at a black party and they knew it word for word. He said that was a moment he’d been waiting his whole career for

yeah this is easier to understand and i still get it. thank you.

i still stick by what i said about that mentality being there in the first place because of the way most black people grow up.

i think tyler is still a bad example cos as a rapper it was the norm but people just associated him with edgy weirdness & skateboarding which was seen as a white thing

nah this a fact lol he was deff looked at as odd. I get your sentiment it was just worded wrong, but here's what I said earlier

Jimi a legend but in his heyday he deff had a bigger white audience than black. In his prime black radio stations were more into Aretha Franklin, James Brown, and Motown for their more straightforward R&B sound as opposed to his guitar heavy s***.

Matter fact dude blew up in the UK initially and was almost unknown in the US at first unil his stardom was too big to deny.

OP worded his statement poorly but Hendrix wasn't initially popular with black audiences like some of his contemporaries at the time

    viscera

"shoot a nigga with them passion pits now he a sleepy head,"

  • Gary Givenchy

Nigga said alternative like being black is a genre

also like.......you supposed to grow out of claiming this after like...high school dog.

we all niggas at the end of the day. Whether you was a gangster or a nerd ass nigga playing yu gi oh at the cafeteria and wore all black and had piercings everywhere lol.

  • SHAQUILLE

Op is speaking facts. He could’ve used better wording tho. Idk why y’all are playing dumb

because it's a term that's mostly used as a way for certain black people to be holier than thou cause they're into "non traditional things"

it's funny OP mentioned Tyler, since he's the epitome of that type.
