Eminem and Kanye West are two artists who have the worst collections of d***riders and yes men. Also Kanye has been unhinged for most of the last decade, so much so it led to him being a weirdo with Drake.

ryuHI think the disconnect with some of you fans/stans who don’t understand these criticisms is the fact that many of you lack the ability to hear music on a complex level.
You can’t tell weather a particular sample being used is tasteful. You can’t tell if a particular drum kit is cliche. You not listening for ear candy such as one vocal on a song having a lush reverb with an interesting delay juxtaposed with a dry vocal during another section on the song, or another vocal having a hint of distortion to add to the theme of the song etc. Some of y’all are extremely binary music listeners (ie “This verse is hard/not hard or this beat is dope/not dope).
It’s ok to be that way and Drake has made plenty of music for surface level listeners but all I’m saying is he has a whole fan base of deep listeners as well who would appreciate some fan service.

I got to that last paragraph and just can't take you seriously after a take like that. It's like people think this nigga just coasted his way to success instead of it being the result of his hard work. You seriously need to go back and listen again, you will pick up somethings you missed.

Ok… well anyways… I respect everyone’s opinions, but that doesn’t make it a fact. I just want the facts.. and the facts are that the whole industry knows drakes good for his work and is one of the most ambitious artists sonically, lyrically, etc. there’s also a catalogue over more than a decade that backs this theory up, as a matter of fact.

Music elitists<<<There absolutely is such a thing, just like there are people who like movies (most humans) and then there are people who have a genuine appreciation for the artistry that goes in to directing, acting, cinematography etc and have an overall deeper appreciation for how films are made.

I wasn't much of a fan of A side and B side on scorpion because the album didn't have much of a versatile flow and the genres were grouped together. he's also said himself that he needs to please everybody (rap radar) and that is difficult when he has fans from all the types of music he makes.
your last paragraph is kinda confusing though cuz its making it sound like drake is in his prime rn when his best music years were undeniably 2011-2016. he did have GOAT albums in that run. although its been over three years since drakes last studio album and I do think this one is going to be one of his best. he's had lots of time to put forth one of his best products.
one last thing. im with you in thinking the newer production is somewhat lazier. i want more 40 engineering and less oz production. not a bad post btw, good insight.
