I’m sure a lot of why you consider yourself bad at reading right now can be attributed to the mental barrier you built — the one you’re talking about in your post.

I suggest taking a pickaxe to that wall and chipping away at it. It’ll be hard and you’ll give up over and over at first, but you need to build up a tolerance to failure.
