  • Real s*** man just tired of the cycle of sports/shooter/other games online where I deal with people who dedicate 15 hours a day to the game or deal with broken mechanics or just a bad product and stressing me out. It was whatever being a kid but as an adult I don’t even know why I work a hard job and deal with stress in real life only to log on a game to use that as my unwinding mechanism and end up more pissed off by the time I log off. S*** just isn’t fun anymore man really just need recs for chill games where I don’t have to feel like this

Somewhat similar situation for me. It used to be fun to purchase a popular multiplayer game to casually enjoy with friends for a bit, and then just log off after some hours of fun that flew by. It was fulfilling even if you weren't in a long session.

Now everything is a lobby full of multi-platform streaming content creators that lab, farm, and clip every ounce of frame data or abuse mechanics/tech and transforms the average gameplay experience into a weirdly toxic pro-am circuit sweat fest. There's no more relaxation or autopilot in groups.

They just got it lol. A nigga's washed where it feels like I shouldn't have to be going crazy 100% of the time.

Exactly man! I consider myself a real gamer like I love this s*** been doing it since I could basically walk and it sucks to feel like I’m doing it just to do it rather than actually enjoy myself. People exploit the most micro level things and it’s just like man I’m trying to play the f***ing game

    Play solo games

  • this the whole reason i quit league one day i had the realization that no matter what i rank i achieved i was gonna have s*** teammates, trolls, afks, inters, etc in my games and all that is gonna do is add unneeded stress and frustration to my life. there's no need for that.

i've played 1 game of normals in like 3 years and i fully uninstalled the other month

Real s*** man and it especially sucks because gaming is my way of hanging out with all my friends since we’re all busy and it’s not as easy to get together in real life. If it wasn’t for that I probably wouldn’t game half as much as what I do now anyways

Only online game I play is Fortnite (never had PS Plus) and that's mostly to shoot the s*** with my friend. I don't even give a f*** about being good at the game, I never learnt to build. Only started getting solo dubs when No Build launched

Yall taking this s*** too seriously if you only have fun if you win

Video games are for having fun.

I stopped playing competitive online games sometime after college in like 2018 lol. Working a 9-5 that’s more like a 7-7 just to get SBMM’d into matches where I’m going crazy negative was too much lol

These days I’m at peace playing single player games and occasionally some cooperative type s***s like destiny/fifa clubs with the bros

  • Deadass that’s why I quit playing shooters a few years ago. Would rather actually play something at my own pace

e-sports culture being integrated into casual play is one of the most cancerous things to ever happen in gaming

This the real conversation. I’m glad to see young niggas getting the bag but it’s such a small demographic that the rest of us are kind of thrusted into by nature

  • i've found that games with smaller yet more loyal communities tend to have more positive matchmaking and attitudes. go into a steam rabbit hole, see what you find.

forming groups with your friends also helps so you don't get paired with try hards
