laudiI mean, you're probably right on a few levels but I don't think it's that cut and dry. I think there's "identities" at play which influence perception. It's the reason why Charley Pride can be so accepted in country and why Paul Wall can be so accepted in rap
I don't think every black musician goes through this, but non-whites are viewed like this more often than admitted
