KSG and the updated TLOP belong in that conversation too with those albums. So this is a dramatic fall from grace. Normally it’d be no big deal for an artist to release a subpar album but this is a different situation because his newfound passion for celebrating his Christianity and running his other endeavors in life are clearly taking over his creativity and love for music. It’s just crazy when you play one of those albums back to back with JIK because it doesn’t at all sound like it came from the same perfectionist and inspired mind. As long as he’s in this phase of his life, I honestly don’t expect him to release any more great albums, which is really sad when he’s your all-time favorite artist.

Was listening to all of his 2010s projects this morning and I could not believe how different JIK sounded. It sounds so low effort and half baked compared to every other album in his discog

It's not even controversial. What's controversial about it, to the vastly dominant religion of Christianity? No, it's just s*** lyrics over beats that sound cobbled together and just nothing songwriting. The beats do sound good, but they can't hold up when each intro outro change whatever just sounds tacked on and off beat. Bad album in every way.
