I was just watching this classic and realized it came out almost a decade ago. When was the last time we actual bluesy/rock music got a mainstream push? Enjoy the dancing, i know s***s tough rn :
Mainstream rock was/is dead because it couldn’t innovate and move past old sounds
the last time rock was really relevant was during early 00s
through black midi & black country new road are some most interesting things to come out in the last 18months
Feel like it died around 03-04 officially. After grunge won’t s*** cool coming out. You had a few alternative bands and nu metal
Rock
Every nigga I know that likes rock listens to OLD s***
i love old s***, grew up on it. it frustrates me that imagine dragons is even in the category of rock but in 2018 they were deemed "biggest rock band in the world" when they really some weird pop hip hop chimera
Mainstream rock was/is dead because it couldn’t innovate and move past old sounds
true. even lonely boy is kinda derivative, still a heater tho
I think that album with the stupid “this is an album by the band the black keys” cover probably was one of the last rock CDs I remember seeing in the front of CD sections and I think KTT1 or kanyelive was praising it a little bit too. When I first joined kanyetalk in 07 there was some people who were really into rock and anticipating the new Metallica and Guns N Roses lol
