And KTT2 cacs still want to try to look cool by pretending he’s not a legend and has no classics
It's arguably the highest peak in rap history. KTT just hates Em
50 also had a similar peak.
Point being--Dre the GOAT
the weeknd had hurry up tomorrow the movie this year that was the first movie to make 1 weekendillion dollars so
People really downplay Em's peak. It's kind of crazy.
It’s hard to fully give him that title though because, like he said as well, that never happens if the color of his skin was different
Also I feel like people generally think his music from that period didn’t age the best

I agree his skin color played a role.
That said, Em's music from 99-02 aged the best out of his catalog. It's his music post 8 Mile that aged worse ironically.

TES didnt age bad
sslp did
KTT over the years has stan'd a bunch of trash to mediocre(at best) white rappers.
Hating Em the one constant the entire time. I know what y'all are

Yeah he had all the odds stacked against him too

Nahhhhh it’s everything after (and arguably a good deal of what came before) that didn’t age well
Eminem show and 8 mile soundtrack >>>
What other rapper would say f*** the Oscar’s to go chill with his daughter lol
He ain’t give one f*** about it
Ok what do u want us to do with this information
Yeah he had all the odds stacked against him too
It was a double-edged sword.
He did benefit from being more marketable as a White dude and talked about that in his music.
But Em was also highly controversial too. He had GLAAD, Republicans, and feminist groups protesting his music and calling for boycotts.
Also, he was viewed as a danger to suburban kids no differently from NWA in the past or Grand Theft Auto.
In fact, my mom was playing a radio show in her car in 2002 and I vividly remember hearing a bunch of older people claiming that parents should stop their children from getting into Eminem and Grand Theft Auto so that they won't turn out to be degenerates. And I was very young then.
And he was temporarily banned from certain countries too. And he had the FBI investigate him for "Mosh."
People who act like Eminem was this safe White rapper who had it easy are rewriting history. He and 50 Cent both broke a lot of barriers. (Kanye did too in a totally different way).
