Sean was responsible for a flow that took over a lot of mainstream raps in the 2010s. In retrospect looking back (not talking about him or the song In OP) a lot of songs that tried replicating this flow aged horribly. The lyrics even more so. “You know I balled, chemo.”

Is this a flow still used a lot today? I don’t hear it as much as I used to. Also how do you feel about it in general?

It was garbage then and it’s definitely garbage now. Not gonna lie and say I didn’t listen to Big Sean during those times but i never seen him as top of the food chain. Of course the peak of that flow was obviously the Drake line:

“And I gotta her nigga….grocery bags”

Sean might’ve been just another dude if he didn’t get with GOOD at that time. A lot of his success was dependent on the Ye co-sign,he would’ve gotten lost in the fire if he signed with YM. He might’ve made it off a Jay co-sign if him and Cole got signed to Roc Nation at the same time, but it definitely would’ve been much harder for him.

never forget Drake said Luda was using the flow wrong & Luda took it as a diss & dissed him on Bada Boom, then Drake was just like “i didn’t know he cared that much”
