This is what I think:

Either the album got scrapped again sometime in the spring and that’s why he deleted his ig and went ghost on us

Or

He has so much material on this new album and we might just be getting another trilogy. I think they will be that “we are in alone together” ep somewhere put in the album, we will have another part of the album that’s French inspired, and then another part that’s New York/ Toronto inspired

Also many of his close friends have already heard the album and I think he is just figuring out the perfect way and time to market this out to the fans!

I can assure you the hair has nothing to do with the album. Literally no one cares for music videos anymore in the streaming era! Besides he would hiding the hair if he really wanted to do something with it like how he hid his hair cut in 2016 till the album cover

I low key have a theory that Drake is involved somehow and is using his clout / maybe some sort of stake in the Weeknd's career, to delay his release for petty reasons

or Weeknd is just gearing up to drop early 2020 so he can just crush 2020 top to bottom with a ginormous tour. maybe involving some new technology that they need time to work on

Not enough of drama with Bella to produce an album yet, be patience...

Could be the label's decision for the album rollout, not the right time yet to maximize profits.

Or could be that he ain't done with the album. Or writer's block. Who can say for sure?

Other thing is he wrote some sketchy s*** on Insta following coachella (caption was "ASSAULT") and my guess is that's partly why his Insta went dark... label is trying to wait for people to forget about that and see if they can find a window to make him look good again

Oh man, I don’t use Instagram too much so I didn’t see that. But yea Belly got beat up while The Weeknd was performing The Hills during the 2nd performance.

Oh maybe that was what that was about... I interpreted that as being some weird reference to sexual assault (not regarding Belly) that maybe got his management to take him off Insta. Who knows. I mean it seems like he's gone really dark... I guess we will see. You would think if he was dropping this fall we would have heard more by now
