what is innovative about the wizrd?
For one, there are not a lot of repeatable 20-track Trao albums.
Two, we all know that DS2 is one of the best Trap albums. I thought The Wizrd was a creative follow up to that.
Three, there are some nice switches and changes up between tracks that still sound fresh
I overall think The Wizrd sounds amazing even without Metro
Only carti really. One could argue 2015-2017 thug as well
What is one Thug project you thought was creative and fresh that you would pick from that time period?

How was the Wizrd innovative???? you could have made a good argument for one of his earlier albums or tapes
Easy
Breeezy
Beautiful
Thugger
Girls
came in this thread and was furious this wasnt mentioned at all in the first two pages
aint in the past 5 years doe
But it was around the time when the subgenre was actually innovative and influential
There haven't really been trap influenced albums the past few years that have been that, mainly because nobody drops actual album experienes anymore, just playlists

Hasn't at all tbh. Great ones but nothing innovative. Maybe Roddy's album a little
Yall really need to ask yourself what is the difference between influential and innovative.
I'm not talking about influence, but more creative comparing it to the artist's body of work and the landscape at the time.
Trouble's storytelling debut album wasn't influential, but sure was a hell of a way to come into the (mainstream) scene.
