Main reason im gonna switch back to android. Awesome file management + ability to download anything from the internet like a PC. I like keeping my media/files organized but really can't on my iphone

You can also open rar / zip files on android if you get the right app im not sure if ios can do that

  • Aug 18, 2021

real, file app is so trash as well as those icloud notifications

Local storage is extremely important to me.

As well as a barebones list view functionality for every single file.

    This is a smart device…

DCIM should be standard. That’s what I mean. The intuitive s*** is largely unnecessary.

The app s*** is intuitive. But I want to see all the s*** on my phone so I can manage my files more effectively.

I don’t want all my files just lingering on a cloud somewhere. Important documents that should be a one and done thing should not continuously pop up on every device you own. A passport is a decent example of that. Nudes are another one low key. They keeping that s*** in perpetuity.

Also, I ain’t finna pay money for niggas to have access to my s***. Save all my s*** on my phone. Give me an accurate picture of my data usage and stop trying to charge me monthly for a service every time I physically get a new file . If I need a cloud service I’ll make a decision on my own.

Plus, I’ll physically back my s*** up myself if needed.

You lose your s*** that’s on you.

The password + keychain s*** is nice but actual files…that’s a dicey game IMO.

    This.

I made the mistake of getting the iPhone 12 Pro Max recently after having an android for most of my life (had like a 3rd gen iPhone when it first came out but didn't like it).

Gave this phone a try and it's just an expensive piece of s***, honestly. Within a day or two I realized how little I can actually do; I can't do half as much as I could on a basic/standard Galaxy let alone any other Android device.

    Navigation is trash.

    Media management is trash.

Customization is very limited and trash.

The app store is BEYOND trash.

    Storage is trash.

S*** I remember trying to ask a friend who's an iPhone geek about how to download Instagram videos and apparently these niggas have to screen record everything because there is no app for it. No wonder all you see in comment sections is "SEND ME THIS".

Just an expensive inconvenience and I can't imagine coping. If you have an Android and are still deciding on making this switch, do yourself a favor and don't.

Just did gonna see what’s up

  • Aug 18, 2021

I play all my music thru files app, Its just a couple albums so its managable. It used to be that the app would need to be open and it would stop if the phone went to sleep but now it works with no issues

Oh also the albums i have are all one track since files doesnt let you skip between tracks so having everything split is kinda annoying

Yep, this brand new iPhone is now my secondary/work phone because I can't do s*** with it.

Can't believe I fell for the hype. Restrictive as f***.
