Like honestly as f***ed up and depressing this is imagine being black and living in Australia or scotland or some s***

Im in canada rn and honestly even here feels off.

The thing is that black culture in US is deep and rooted. In every other country apart from uk or france were a tiny minority

With all the s*** that’s going on i still believe from a culturally sense the states is the best place for blacks.

I wish i could pack and move to better functioning countries like norway or some s*** but im not white

Can't front. Feels like we're Saiyans in the namek saga. We're done being slaves and being unappreciated. We're on the brink of fulfilling a thousand year prophecy and hitting super Saiyan and overthrowing frieza

After that a wave of super Saiyans will emerge all over earth

in general most countries - not just western - are insanely hostile of foreign cultures, no less like, different skin colors. this isn't necessarily 100% true of the experience of travelers or of guests. you don't really feel that stuff until you live in another country for an extended period of time rather than visit. this also isnt meant to be universal; obviously not everyone in every country is racist, its just that systematic provactions of racism or cultural prejudice are a lot more open elsewhere than a lot of people in the US realize because of how US-centric everything in the US is from education to media to entertainment.
i'm not going to sit here and say the US is some multicultural or multiracial utopia - it's certainly far from that, historically oand modernly, but the issues the US faces internally are certainly unique when compared with other countries. Whether or not this is for better or worse is a different story.

It’s crazy how there be different flavors of racism in each country/region.

Like New York racism different than Alabama racism. It’s wild.

The racism out in Europe hit different too.

i think the difference is there's at least an idea in america of "black american" being an existing and legitimate concept (i'm not talking white supremacists, i'm just talking among the average person), regardless of one's idea of what such constitutes. There's an an idea of "indian american" or "asian american" or the like. There's no such thing as "black hungarian" for example. You can be black and you can be in hungary, but no one will ever validate your existence there as part of the country or a legitimate member of their culture. Also other countries are just straight up more openly racist. See what middle-easterns or what south-east asians have to say about africans half the time. America is certainly segmented into a lot of sub-cultural spheres, but each of these spheres recognize the other ones exist, which is I think why the culture here is so unique versus other ones, where instead there's a blanketed, concrete definition of culture, and anything under it, no matter how well in-grained in the country, is foreign.

i was gonna say regional racism is the US is weird, but it's actually kinda similar to the rest of the world when I really think about it. Canada has regional distinctions too; a lot different being a minority in, like, Quebec vs in Vancouver vs like, Alberta. East vs West germany are different worlds in how they look at different cultures/races too for example

    This is it!!!!!!!!

This what ive been feeling since i moved here

Like there are definitely black people here, more than any eu country that isnt uk or france but it felt different like no community. Everyone either assimilated into whatever immigrant background they have or into the larger white culture

This what separates america from most countries, there are legitimate ideas of each group and the way that intersects in the history of the country

There’s a broader understanding of the culture of each group and how it relates to americaness smth you’ll rarely find in many countries where 2nd-3rd generation in people still view themselves as more whatever place their ancestors came from

Depends where you at in NYC. You’re right, the amount of people and overall diversity of the city definitely limits the amount of obvious racism, but there are still plenty of bigots in the city.

But go to a gentrified era and you’ll find some subtly racism. Go Staten Island and venture outside the city to Long Island and you’ll find some not so subtle racism. Plenty of ethnic neighborhoods of all types in NYC where you’ll hear some of the most wild racist s*** come out of people’s mouths I promise you.

yeah theres a huge turkish population in germany. and whites in europe are generally unsupportive of arab refugees and there isnt many blacks there to begin with so it isnt as common ofc

Yea i hve a lot of family there and visited london

Id say uk is the second best place to live as a black person.

London area is pretty diverse but even the other big cities in midlands and northern uk have black communities

London is an amazing city, but hit some other regions of the UK and you’ll certainly run into people who are maybe not so open minded as you’d expect.

A lot of Southern Europe in general

This thread was inspired by a lot of europeans s***ting on America bcus of these protests. wht they dnt realise is that wht America is going thru rn are the growing pains of a diverse nation trying to move into a multiracial and just society so in that regard US is literally 90% ahead of most european countries bcus they havent even started in the first step. POC in these countries are so disenfranchised and cucked it’s crazy

U couldnt pay me to live in italy as a black person
