I take Apidra (a fast-acting insulin) when I’m about to eat (about 4 times a day) and perhaps an extra dose if my blood sugar is too high at some point during the day. I also take Lantus (a slow-acting basal insulin) once a day. So in total I would say about 4-6 shots a day.

I have a CGM called Freestyle Libre 3 which I love. It’s a really small circular sensor on the back of my arm which sends information to my phone every minute about my current sugar levels. It can be worn for 2 weeks and then you replace it with a new sensor.

My diet and lifestyle hasn’t really changed much to be honest. Mostly because it’s type 1 which is autoimmune so it wasn’t really caused by my diet and lifestyle to begin with. There’s many within my family who have it (uncles and aunts).

The toughest parts about type 1 diabetes in my day to day life is more or less the fact that you have to constantly be aware of what your sugar levels are at and be prepared to act accordingly. I can’t be as spontaneous as I would like. I need to bring the meds, I need to bring some fast carbs/sugar in case my blood sugar would drop too low. Getting low blood sugar and the worry of getting low is the worst part imo). My blood sugar can be high and not give me any symptoms, but as soon as you get low, you will definitely feel it and you need to act fast since it’s way more dangerous.

  • type s***

  • My girl had gestational diabetes. It was completely managed by diet.

  • My grandma and my dad has number 2

  • I had a close friend that was type 1 for years and was acquainted with another

When I was ok zyprexa I was at risk of type 2 according to lab tests for accutane. No longer tho

man i can tell you stories about myself and dealing with low blood sugars high blood sugars ok sio i take humalog, triseba 2-3 units a day for humalog triseba is 1 at night for food i am a creature of habbit always eating the foods every day also mainly for working out too for working as well i can recommend you a good YouTube channel that talks about diabetes and working out, going out is tricky because idk if you count carbs to insulin ratio but if you do good for you, i have always a juice or some sort of sugar by me always i also wear the FL3 too i like it and mainly use it because sometimes when i sleep if my blood goes low i may not feel it the low alarm is A LIFE SAVER also never be afraid to give your insulin in public and also if your blood is 12 for example and depending what your eating they say to divide your insulin by 2 to correct so it would be 6 units plus two to correct so 8 all together is what you should be giving now depends what your eating too
