I get that the US can be safer for some than a lot of other states where conflict is more heavily concentrated
And I don't blame them for wanting to leave
However there is enough wrong with it to where I do not think it should be celebrated.
Oh, for sure. The US is still extremely corrupt. I'm not patriotic; my point is that Jews have the same rights to the United States as you and me, and I'm not trying to change the goal posts. Jews are factually based in the Levant; it just didn't have any official designation until the late 1940s due to global interference, which was wrong, anyway, but they eventually took over completely.
Think of it like the Kurds who have lived in Turkey, Iran, and Iraq for centuries despite not having an official "home" there, yet.
We must ask ourselves that if US is a refuge for all, whether it’s a matter of virtue or a matter of the US exporting violence internationally
great point
we all kind of develop stockholm syndrome, sort of

To clarify I was speaking of "Israelis" not Jews as a whole in my initial post
To clarify I was speaking of "Israelis" not Jews as a whole in my initial post
What even is "Israeli" though?
Just to clarify,
I'm not pro-Israel or Zionist; rather, I come from a Muslim and Christian background and am POC.
But this is not true. Jews have lived alongside Muslims in the Levant for millennia, even before Islam was introduced.
The United States is a refuge for all, not just Jews, and the reason Jewish people fled back to Jerusalem to establish "Israel" was to escape centuries of discrimination against them in the US and EU, not just during WWII. WWII was the straw that broke the camel's back.
You also have to realise there are like 3-4 ethnic Jewish groups (Sephardic, Ashkenazi, Mizrahi, Ethiopian, etc), some that haven't lived with each other in thousands of years. Israel was made to home them all, but obviously made in corruption.
Israel is not a home to all Jewish groups
if you mean zionists who believe arab jews and ethiopian jews, and even other groups shouldn't live among them, i agree
Israel is not a home to all Jewish groups
Almost all
Besides Ethiopians, who else?

what is this bullshit
zionism has nothing to do with "escaping discrimination", its more like a mystified form of self-hatred where "jews" cannot live peacefully with "regular society". racism in israel is not an issue of corruption, zionism was founded as a colonial project.

literally where did I mention zionism?
seeking refuge =! colonialism and zionism
I understand that it became a project to seek refuge from genocide and racism into the corruption and racism we see today, but I'm explaining the nuances of how Jews literally lived in Jerusalem for millennia. In no way shape or form does my comment refer to modern-day Israel, which is beyond recognition and corrupt beyond belief, led by Bibi who literally murders any peaceful politicians en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassination_of_Yitzhak_Rabin
before the 1900s jews were constantly slandered, almost as much as black people, romanis and indigenous people, wouldn't you want to create a world where you don't have to deal with that anymore?
How is it not. The U.S. has historically taken in people from all backgrounds fleeing whatever issue happening elsewhere
the US deported jews back to germany to die in the gas chambers while they were rounding up the japanese into concentration camps

Yes that’s a fact. There were other things also happening it’s not that black and white
I think I get you now. The US is a refuge to anyone who kisses the boot
My bad, i just caught it

I haven't kept up with the s*** in the middle east post the initial October attacks but from what I've gathered seems like both sides (Israel and Palestinians) want the other eliminated completely
If you ask me seems like american youth has been manipulated into taking an anti Israel stance based on hamas propaganda. A lot of the messaging seems very antisemitic.
Personally i feel like American youth should be protesting things that effect them at home like cost of tuition or student debt
All these college kids just seem to he virtue signaling and joining a trend
I don't agree with the US backing Israel nor do i agree with the years of oppression the Palestinians have faced but tbh its not my problem. All i can do is use my power to vote and unfortunately Israel is the US's proxy into the middle east so they kind of have to d***ride in order to secure American military imperialism
This is the cost of living a privileged western lifestyle
no offense but this is the average take of someone who knows very little about the actual conflict and is just very cynical about the whole thing. if you want to actually cure this ignorance it's very possible like i can definitely educate you myself or send you resources to do so yourself but if not let me know so i don't waste my time. i mean this with all due respect
Yes that’s a fact. There were other things also happening it’s not that black and white
"its complicated"
oh ok. maybe if you were imprisoned in a racist concentration camp for japanese people you wouldn't think that way. or a haitian or mexican migrant today who faces deportation. or a native person forced onto a reservation.
i think youre full of s*** is what I think.
