I'm just saying I haven't heard of this album until someone on Ktt mentioned it. Listened to it and I can't believe it came out in 2010. Easily ahead of its time and so damn good. Wondaland my favorite. But I rarely see this album get talked about

and by music circles, it's absolutely underrated. don't know why janelle doesn't have the same kind of fanbase as some certain other artists

Nah. I remember when it dropped everyone was doing deep dive interpretations of the album. Album was influenced from greats like Stevie Wonder to David Bowie. It was critically acclaimed and everything. The public just doesn't f*** with Janelle Monae's music like that. They just like her aesthetic frfr.

I used to surround myself with the r&b crowd around the time she dropped and nobody considered this album under appreciated. The album was nominated for a Grammy.
