here's some stuff i made this week
God bless you kid, we all start somewhere
if you don’t listen to your music constantly to make sure it’s really hittin or not then what are you doing as an artist
voca.ro/196qD0XyfUU7 Definitely bumping this constantly tho
If you’re not obsessed with your own art, then it probably sucks
But you have to pair that obsession with hating it as well, and then going back and forth between the two emotions
I would say when you have a good amount of music. it's nice just trip and listen to it all. like an out of body experience. let the soundcloud rock, etc

i love listening to my music in chronological order
hearing yourself get better over time
I’m obsessed with my own art and that’s okay.At the end of the day that’s who I’m making it for anyone else liking it is a plus
Too many songs and beats to not be. Treat my demos like “alternate” versions lmfao
Idk about obsessed, but your art definitely has to be art to you. It has to be valid in the vacuum of your own mind, so if you’re that involved with executing your creative pursuits of expression to such an exacting degree born of your own expectations (as opposed to perfection as the audience might define it) then it’s a healthy sign your work will be imbued with confidence. And confidence is the oxygen the lifeblood that gives art validity and longevity

think thats an admirable philosophy & more artists should probably feel that way

SHEESH!
glad you sent this bro
who cares if it is or isn't? ppl who disagree will understand when they find something they truly love. if ur good at it, why not be obsessed?

i think you're right, i was curious cus i do feel like a nut the way i geek out out my own stuff its just kinda funny & was curious about how common this is
self indulgence kinda seems like a primary facet of creativity
i agree & i think it's interesting that when larger artists talk about their own art its often through this external lens like they create the work for their fans. which sounds like it's altruistic but something shifts where an artist is no longer making art for themselves, but for "other people" (profit) & its usually the same time they go mid. weird

i think this certainly becomes an issue when, at least in music, you sign to a label and you might not have full creative control
