Yes, I don’t wear it that much so I don’t see the reason to buy the pure gold one.
Only thing I would ever get pure gold would be earrings or rings because they can easily get worn out if they are plated, but if you wear a chain right and it has a decent amount of plating it’ll last a a few good years 🤷🏾♂️

Yea pure as in non plated 14-22k, even tho personally I think 22k is od, it deforms easily, 18k is like the best

Whatever you do, just don’t convince yourself that you’re “investing” by spending money on a gold chain. If you want one to wear, buy it for that reason.

18k is the sweet spot, yeah. only earrings would be something to buy above 18k for. my mom likes 22k for that reason.
most my jewelry that i've gotten is 18k. i used to wear an 18k curb link chain daily for 2 years. it used to be my dad's and it still looked great like 25 years after he bought it.

Been rocking a faux gold chain for years now.
For everyday wear I would suggest gold-plated or even a fake 👀 since you'd probably get alot of wear and tear on a daily usage and risk the possibility of getting it stolen or somehow losing it.
Why not buy a real gold chain to wear for those special events and nights out (which ain't happening anytime soon during covid) and then a fugazy gold chain to wear 24/7 and not gaf about.
