    Yup. The thing is if you really think the s*** out, Cole isn’t that slick or subtle with it lol. He doesn’t just take it as influence, he completely takes it. Same with “you decide” and “choose wisely”

    The entire world is mindful of the similarities between Kendrick and Cole, Idk why posters in this thread are so touched at the thought of Cole being mindful of it too He probably lost some of his confidence seeing the reception his debut album and Born Sinner got, obviously he'd like to be respected and praised like Kendrick is. I wouldn't really call it biting but he sees the direction Kendrick goes in and puts his own spin on it

    the only real connection between a Cole & kendrick album is KOD & DAMN & that's not even a hard one to make because Cole literally says he was influenced by it. Everything else is grasping at straws for the most part. Cole has always been jazz influenced so an album like 4yeo isnt surprising from him. Records like 4yeo title track & changes is the essence of what Cole does as an artist

    GKMC vs 2014 FHD makes more sense to me, both concept albums detailing their early lives and the Tale of 2 Citiez/Maad City comparison Anyone who isn't biased can at least see what OP is saying a little

    Intro = BLOOD/End of the Heart 2, take your pick
    ATM = Humble
    The Cut Off = PRIDE
    KOD = DNA (Titles, both second tracks and some point of second verse has Cole flowing quicker with a slightly different beat)

    J Cole and Kendrick aren't the same artist so obviously they won't be carbon copies, but I don't think any of these are reaches especially when Cole himself said he wanted an album like DAMN. Some of the song titles are even spelt in all caps like DAMN tracks, this really not THAT far fetched

    Still waiting to see how yall can refute this

    Thank you. Most of those similarities I also pointed out in the early pages of the thread, good to know I’m not crazy

    The Uncle Sam thing on BRACKETS actually the most obvious tho even tho it’s from TPAB he did the EXACT same thing as far as playing on the “uncle” thing, presenting him as the character’s uncle in a spoken skit
