Here is an interesting topic I'd like to bring up. I feel like from 2000-2013 we had artists like Nelly, Luda, Cam'Ron, Juelz, 50 Cent, Kanye etc. all basically rapping about how dope they are. Just bar after bar of it.
Nowadays, I feel like only Drake raps with bravado. Kendrick and Cole aren't those kind of rappers. ASAP was the only other artist I think that has that early 2000's rapper swagger.
Just wondering if anybody else shares these views.
But no I think there’s still bravado, it’s just dressed up different it’s bisexual now

there's plenty of confident rappers
Cole last album had hella bravado & this last Dreamville mixtape especially
Kendrick sprinkles it throughout his album & definitely was on it heavy during his blow up
The big 3 all have the balance of bravado raps & more introspective records

Maybe I just like the old version of it more haha

Word I'll have to give that dreamville mixtape a look and yeah I agree with Kendrick during his blow-up. I miss GKMC era Kendrick
Never heard more bravado from this generation than Nav saying "I'm the first brown boy to get it poppin"
Kendrick and Cole absolutely have and showcase their "bravado" but from the context I guess I kinda get what you're talking about.
Most these niggas just not dope rappers man. Whether the music is good or not

I feel like I could see any of the rappers I mentioned doing what Drake did in the Falling Back video in the early 2000's. Like i could never see Kendrick or Cole marrying 23 women in a music video.
And yeah just wish there were rappers with that kind of swag nowadays.
You talking current gen and naming guys who came up in the early 2010s .. @op

I think that has a little more to do with Drake's sense of humor and ability to take things lightly.
The nigga Kendrick is walking around with a diamond encrusted crown of thorns. That's bravado.
