Jay-Z Thought he had a movement started with this song but in the end it’s just a meh song on an average album that is best remembered by Kanye’s verse on run this town.

The whole hip hop world listened to this song and said “ok bet” and went on with their lives and auto tune is still a big part of hip hop 10 years later.

Good song but definitely was not the death of auto tune

  • Jan 21, 2020

No, some of these guys with autotune on their voices are really unlistenable. It's become overplayed and annoying if we being real. I don't care if I'm an old man or whatever for saying this. It's just sad at this point every artist who can't sing has one or two of those autocrune songs on an album.

If we talking about dudes who are actually singers and use it though, then that's fine, but if you're a rapper WHO RAPS better than sings.. just stick to rapping.

    Nah Wayne killed that s***

  • It's crazy how the only person who's career was effected by that song was the one who reintroduced it to the mainstream.

He did but jay didn’t lol

All that matters is Wayne bodied it. Easy to forget that it wasn't even originally a Wayne song

  • Jan 21, 2020

Lowkey one of the biggest L's in rap history. Doesn't matter how good the song is or what his intention was, he literally named this Death of Auto Tune and now 11 years later auto tune in hip hop is still a big thing

  • Jan 21, 2020

Need Eminem and Joyner Lucas to drop Death of Mumble Rap next 💪🏽‼️😤

Is nas’s “hip hop is dead” one of the lamest albums of all time? It’s 2020 and hip hop is still alive

    Food for thought

OP clearly doesn't remember how rampant and horrible autotune was, and that a large amount of people agreed with Jay. The song ultimately drew a line between artists using it creatively and people who just want to ride a wave.
