I've always just seen trap as a musical style in hip-hop which now that the 90s style of production has become more the sound of underground rap is basically mainstream (obviously both mix a lot too, but I'm simplifying). But I'm interested now why so many ppl itt don't agree

imo it's trap if there's both to an extent: content that's leaning towards trap and production that's doing the same

but if there's 0% of lyrical content within the album referencing dealing etc. i'd have a hard time calling it trap

yes Future and Lucki have quite a lot in common but that doesn't really matter
there are levels to Future's albums being trap or not as well - a DS2 is arguably more trap than HNDRXX; sub-genre categorizations do not apply to artists as a whole, they're more flexible than that
