The two highest selling n most popular rappers, Drake & Kendrick, both bigged up n gave a big role to two others Rappers that are also really popular in their own right, 21 Savage & Kodak Black, respectively.

Is this a ushering in era & moment? Even tho 21 Savage & Kodak Black have been around for a good while themselves, they are of course newer than the other two & the era right after.

Is this Drake & Kendrick recognizing & giving props to who they think is them ones & are GOATS themselves like them?

    Real recognizes real

Just need Cole to put on NBA YB then the next big 3 is complete 🦢

I love 21 and Yak but those dudes will always be in the shadows of the two giants you mentioned unfortunately. Would be cool to see the newer school start to finally take the lead moving forward and let the OGs fall back in grace

  • Neither 21 or Kodak command the influence and impact in current rap the way Drake and Kendrick did during their peak. They of course big in their own right but not even close to the current big 3.

Nah, I'm not so sure. I'm sure that giving them props and recognition is a part of it, but I don't think they are necessarily passing the torch. It seems like Kendrick is trying his best to pass the torch to Keem and I think that Drake and 21 Savage capture different lanes and audiences outside of the tracks they do together. I couldn't really imagine 21 making pop hits

Drake shows more love to his peers in 1 year (pick any) than Kenny gave in his whole career. How u compare a whole tape to 1 album track feature

Drake f***s with 21 so he made a collab album with him and Kendrick f***s with Kodak so he put him on some songs, nothing deeper than that

21 and Kodak are legends of their era but they likely aren't going to get any bigger. Lil Baby was supposed to lead us into a new generation but looks like his popularity has peeked too

With Drake still showing no signs of slowing down and no newcomers that can shake things up on the horizon, it looks like 2020s will just be a continuation of the 2010s

The shape of the game is so different idk if torches can even be passed

  • Nov 10, 2022

I’ma be real, I’ve been fw 21 music for a long time but his next solo album probably still going triple cardboard regardless

21 and Kodak can get all the features from them they want but at the end of the day what matters is can they drop a classic rap album without Drake or Kendrick's help? 21 is good at what he does but he doesn't step outside of his box and probably won't push himself beyond where he is now. You need to be influential and break new ground to be like Drake and Kendrick neither 21 or Kodak show any signs of that

  • nah it's gonna take them to retire officially for the torch to be passed.

s*** crazy cause they're both young but idk about a torch pass when 21 and kodak are so well established already.

If Kodak or 21 have a tpab or nwts in them I'll eat my words. I want them to prove me wrong but let's be real

they have different ways of making music

drake's music is literally built for collabs

kendrick's music is built for the theatrics

kendrick showed love tho for sure
(TDE, Rich the kid, Keem, Rocky, ... etc)
