The marshmellow experiment is dumb. Your really just testing the childs ability and desire to be obedient. Why wait an hour for 2 f***ing marshmellows as if thats so much better than one, the experiment is way too simple to be useful

Not speaking on the video , but yes probably. In an ideal world I would be 100% work focused and not give a damn about any hobby but I’d probably be miserable.

Yeah, I said as much in the video's comments. But I'm moreso interested a discussion about delayed gratification being a positive personality indicator.

He didn't mention at all in the video about folks who got their 401ks pimped by Wall St, so obviously there's grey area, but what do you think?

We definitely live at a time where there's intentional attacks on the daily towards people's sense of stability and erosion of future prospects. If we got time catch our breath before the next "crisis", would more people be better off? Or are some people hopelessly doomed to easy pleasure?

yes, i would say. especially now when the entertainment industry is back alive and the weather is getting warmer, but checks are getting tighter.

most people are and will continue to put it on credit cards that take that 5+ years to pay off. like the World Cup, s*** is an average $5k for a good seat, and them stadiums seating like 50k-90k people per night. in June, they bout to make like $30b+ off the World Cup

niggas in a field, kicking a ball around for 30 days. I love soccer, but this is why our world is suffering cause the governments promote it as a win for the economy and you get the “memories”

    Nah, I don't disagree. That's def a factor.

    A big one tbh!

But do you think there's anything you can do in your personal life to overcome that?

Just had to get that out of the way personally I’m well off due to a lot of hard work on my part and my path kind of lining up for me to continue to be successful. All I can offer for people is to work hard, don’t expect anyone to do anything for you and if someone does do something for you try to pay it forward

Yea but its like probably .3-.4 correlation, it helps but its not the most important factor
